I Believe, Installment 2

6 Apr
  • I believe that God is good.
  • I believe that bad things happen to good people, and vice versa.
  • I believe that children are resilient, but we have to fill them with love, compassion, hope, confidence, hard work, loving discipline, guidelines, boundaries and freedom.
  • I believe that it’s not all about money.
  • I believe that you can’t love someone enough to make him love you or himself, or anyone else, for that matter.
  • I believe that life isn’t fair. You should do your best, and do what you believe is right and fair anyway.
  • I believe that good people do bad things, make bad decisions, hurt other people.
  • I believe that wanting something to happen won’t make it happen.
  • I believe that you have to accept reality.
  • I believe that with focus, hard work, dedication and energy, you can change your reality.
  • I believe that things will get better.

I believe in the power of a hug, a good friend and a good glass of wine.

I Believe.

This is most likely the first installment of “I Believe” posts.

I am learning so much about myself, my life, life in general, love, loyalty, my precious children, and family. I have strengthened my beliefs and understanding about what is really important in life. I have been humbled beyond measure and am a much more grateful and thankful person than I was a year ago.

  • I firmly believe that one needs to do everything one can to save the marriage.
  • I firmly believe that divorce is the last resort (unless there is an abusive relationship).
  • I firmly believe that divorce is bad for children, and negatively affects them in the short and long-term.
  • I firmly believe that the way parents behave will directly and powerfully determine the impact of how the divorce affects their children.
  • I firmly believe in forgiving yourself.
  • I firmly believe in moving forward even if life isn’t what you had hoped or dreamed for. Make it the life you want no matter what it has been in the past.
  • I firmly believe that mommy guilt sucks.
  • I firmly believe that single parenthood is difficult, and also is more fun that I dreamed it would be.
  • I firmly believe that prayer will strengthen you.
  • I firmly believe that tears help cleanse and heal. So do hugs and laughter.

Welcome to my journey!
